The Production Supervisor is responsible for executing the operations vision and strategy of the Jaffrey Millidisk/Millipak Products Team by improving the organizational and production processes required to achieve that strategy, and leading the team's progress towards achieving its goals. The Production Supervisor must work to be a change agent, driving behavior changes and building organizational capability throughout the production team. - Fosters an environment of continuous improvement and team work.
- Engage the production teams in the process and expand their knowledge and decision making capabilities
- Continuously develops operators' skills through coaching and counseling, as necessary.
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the area's support departments (Engineering, Quality, Facilities, etc)
- Continuously monitor and ensure that production requirements are being met and prioritize WIP as necessary.
- See that all technical issues discovered are resolved in a timely manner.
- Provide all required training in a timely manner.
- Set up Daily Operator Rotation Schedules.
- Set up and maintain an Operator Cross Training Plan.
- Maintains a Vacation Schedule for operators that fits the department's production needs.
- Anticipates, recognizes and controls safety hazards and environmental impacts associated with job function (e.g. identifies risk reduction and waste elimination opportunities, reports all incidents and near misses, completes all EHS related training, wears proper Personal Protective Equipment).
Requirements - Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing leadership role. Medical or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience preferred.
- H.S. Diploma required. Bachelor Degree Preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be proficient in the use of Excel and Word software
- Excellent understanding of the general and technical aspects of the job
- Able to interface in a professional manner with the Management Staff, Quality, Engineering and Site Services
- Able to lead and motivate a team of operators to achieve department production goals
- Ability to understand and contribute in the elimination of technical issues
- Familiar with EHS, cGMP, ISO requirements in lean mfg. environment
- Lean or Six Sigma Certification a plus
- Experience leading Kaizen events
- Ability and desire to advance into Production Management role
