Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager of Digital Marketing to join the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Marketing team. This individual will lead the global digital promotional efforts targeting both consumer and professional audiences in relation to Kalydeco (VX-770), Vertex's new CF drug. This position reports to the Associate Director, CF Global Marketing and will work closely with the brand team to ensure digital programming supports marketing objectives and strategies.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the resident digital steward: - Ensure digital initiatives meet the strategic business objectives for the brand - Understand digital behavior of key customer segments - Work with agency/digital partners to determine the optimal digital spend in the overall communication mix - Research and identify opportunities to drive purposeful adoption of new tactics across the CF team - Understand the regulatory environment and standard industry practice for key tactics - Actively participate in preparation and presentation of digital and multi-channel plans to brand and senior management - Share best practices with product teams to leverage learning and scale across organization
Inform centralized infrastructure needed for digital marketing: - Work with Compliance, Legal and Regulatory to identify and maintain policies to govern multi-channel marketing - Effectively demonstrate an understanding of standards and solutions for digital and multi-channel analysis and measurement - Understand the technology environment working alongside Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) - Actively participate in relationship marketing governance and GIS steering committees - Coordinate with Corporate Communications to ensure standards are met
Partner in consumer and health care provider (HCP) digital strategy and execution: - Work closely with agency/digital partners to develop a cohesive digital strategy for primary and secondary consumer and HCP targets - Partner with digital agency to translate strategies to a prioritized tactical plan - Partner with brand team counterparts to ensure digital consumer plan is fully integrated with offline promotion - Partner with brand team counterparts to integrate the digital analytics to inform broader brand and customer strategy - Ensure effective integration of professional and consumer digital plans - Management of the digital budget - Act as project lead for all digital initiatives and ensure frequent touch points with brand team counterparts to ensure alignment on direction and implementation
Digital agency management and media partners: - Day-to-day management of digital initiatives - Work with Agency Digital Partner to efficiently manage all SOWs to be within approved agency budget - Establish relationships with key media partners (e.g. Google) - Develop relationships with specialized partners in the area of social media
Media agency management: - Day-to-day management of media plans/projects - Demonstrate knowledge of and broad oversight across media projects (covering market development, unbranded and branded media to ensure effective use of media agency spend) - Work with agency partner to effectively manage and coordinate all statements of work to be within approved agency budget - A Bachelor's degree - 5+ years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology or agency experience - 3+ years of marketing experience - 3+ years of digital experience
Preferred Qualifications: - Pharmaceutical digital experience - Global experience - Strong track record in implementing successful digital and multi-channel programs in the biotech or pharmaceutical sector - Familiarity with agencies, vendors, data providers and other experts. - Familiarity with digital/social media/relationship marketing agency as a partner - Understanding of digital and media strategies, media buying, and planning, managing and evaluating patient and HCP programs. - Ability to develop marketing plans and recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative research Requirements See Job Description |
