Summary Description: The successful candidate is responsible for assisting in developing commercialization strategies and execution of these strategies for In Vitro diagnostics (IVD) and Biopharmaceutical companies. It requires the creation and execution of targeted marketing strategies, launching new programs, identification of market trends, and campaigns for IVD and biologics products/services. The responsibilities of this position span development and growth of the Meridian Life Science, Inc. business through product positioning, content development, pricing, promotional strategy and sales strategy development and execution.
The candidate will support the General Manager in providing commercial input to a cross functional team consisting of R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Business Development. He/she will have solid technical marketing experience with IVD and biologic products and a strong track record of self motivation with an entrepreneurial mindset. They will also have demonstrated the ability to work in rapidly changing environments, and should have the ability and willingness to make rapid and well-informed decisions. This position requires up to 25% travel. Requirements Required Qualifications: Masters Degree or Ph.D. in Life Science Minimum of 8 years combined experience in sales, marketing, or sales/marketing support with a minimum of 5 of those years in brand management/marketing planning within the biologics and in vitro diagnostics market place Entrepreneurial mindset focused on achieving goals in rapid and cost-efficient manner Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills Strong technical and analytical skills Proven ability to work in uncertain environments and ability to solve complex and ambiguous challenges Ability and high comfort level working with multiple stakeholders in cross-functional environment to achieve goals 5+ years of sales and marketing experience in the Clinical Diagnostics / IVD industry Strategic and tactical planning for large accounts in the IVD business is required International marketing experience in Life Science is required, especially experience in Asian and emerging markets. Responsibilities:
Specific duties of this global role include developing local and regional sales and marketing plans, training reps on new technology, forecasting, budgeting, and attending scientific congresses and medical meetings. Developing an annual Business Plan for assigned products in each region, using market analytics to evaluate trends and customer profitability. Responsibilities may also include but is not inclusive of the following: Leading and developing commercial strategies including launch plans, product forecasts, pricing / access, competitive / market analysis. Execution of pre-launch tactics including customer segmentation, positioning, branding and key customer engagement activities. Develop strategic marketing plan and associated tactical elements including product/service roadmap, messaging/positioning, customer segmentation, PR efforts, promotional plan, event strategy, capabilities presentations, assay data sheets, marketing collateral, case studies, content and support of business development efforts. Serve as an internal product expert, as well as to the marketplace to promote the IVD and biologics channel. Drive target market research and competitive analysis to create a differentiated offering. Collaborate externally and internally to identify, develop, and evaluate market conditions, cost, and margins. Develop project plans and manage cross-functional activity to ensure the timely preparation and completion of projects/programs. Develops, communicates, and positions the IVD and biologics services in relation to similar offerings in the market and within the companys portfolio of solutions ensuring consistent alignment with the overall company strategy, brand, value proposition, campaigns, analysis, and sales. Develop and write content and creative briefs for biologics and IVD market. Implement metrics, reporting, processes, and tools for the biologics and IVD market. Refine and build IVD and biologics offering over time in order to achieve and maintain product leadership Facilitate customer access to biologics scientists/representatives as required, serving as a point-of-contact for customers in the capacity of account management as needed. Provide sales support and train BDMs on product position and message. Maintain open communication throughout the organization especially in regards to cross-site and cross-business unit efforts. Anticipate future changes in the market and identify competitive threats and opportunities. Understand potential impact of any shifts in attitudes and/or behaviors of key customers. Present plan of action, via market research techniques, to further investigate issues and provide actionable recommendations to internal teams.
