Job Description:  JOB DESCRIPTION:

Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Focus Factory Manager (3rd shift) - North Focus Factory to join our Operations Management department located at our Bedford, OH facility. The Focus Factory Manager is responsible for providing operational leadership and tactical execution of the assigned Focus Factory. Directly manages the supervision and coordination of all direct production centers with all non-production support groups to meet sales forecasts, corporate goals and objectives. The position will also be responsible for dealing directly with the Contract Manufacturing customers on any issues related to their products.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, formulate, organize, control and direct production activities of the Sterile Filling, Component Preparation, Equipment Preparation, Formulations, Lyo/Sterilization and Packaging areas to ensure they are valid, progressive, efficient, cost effective and in compliance
Manage work priorities and time-lines and allocate resources to assure assigned focus factory goals and time-lines are met
Execute focus factory manufacturing strategy and align with overall plant strategy
Partner with quality leadership to ensure good quality and cGMP practices and their implementation in manufacturing
Lead, coach and train employees toward team concepts and foster environment for an empowered, high-performance focus factory by applying MLC principles
Execute talent management initiatives including the creation and delivery of robust career development and MAX Plans for all direct reports. Demonstrate MLC Principles through effective coaching, mentoring and differentiation of development for employees. Focused talent acquisition/management process to increase talent at the supervisory level
Champion Right First Time in production areas and drive continuous improvement philosophy
Partner with other focus factory managers and collaborate to find the best possible solution and best practices
Works with Contract Customers on issues related to their product from release by project development to packaging and final shipment

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in science or related field
Minimum 7 years experience in a pharmaceutical environment including working knowledge in all pharmaceutical operations i.e. Component Prep, Equipment Prep, Sterilization, Lyophilization, Quality Control, Microbiology, Quality Assurance and Materials Management
Minimum of 2 years management experience in a pharmaceutical environment, preferably in a sterile injectable facility

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older

DESIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both internal and external customers
Demonstrated strong leadership and decision making abilities along with skills in scheduling and planning production tasks
Financial/Budgeting experience
