General Summary:
The incumbent will lead a small group responsible for developing kits and reagents for recovering megabase DNA from diverse biological samples to serve as substrate BioNano Genomics single molecule linear DNA mapping platform.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
Supervise Scientists and Research Associates
Deliver a validated mega base DNA extraction kit
Expand to multiple sample input types
Reduce starting amount requirements
Optimize workflow
Work with labeling team to integrate sample prep with labeling
Develop manufacturing SOP and documentation Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Technical skills:
Strong molecular biology experience with extensive sample prep background
Demonstrated skill in rigorous methodology and deriving data driven conclusions
Effective communication of conclusions and recommendations
Willingness to do bench level work
Genomics experience
Experience with platform development (i.e. reagents for instrumentation)
Demonstrated and successful track record in product development with evidence of innovation
Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience.
Ability to provide guidance and strong technical support to team

Education and Experience Required:
Requires PhD in Molecular Biology, BioChemistry or related field with a minimum of 5 years experience in a commercial setting
