This Scientist 1 position is within the Consumables Product Development group, a dynamic team that creates genomic analysis products used at the forefront of scientific research. Our sequencing technology is setting new standards in the field for productivity, cost-effectiveness and accuracy. This exciting position is focused on development of commercial products for next-generation sequencing technology.Tasks and responsibilities: Design and conduct effective experiments to efficiently move projects forward to meet corporate goals Demonstrate technical proficiency, scientific creativity, and independent thought Optimize assay conditions to achieve commercial levels of stability and performance Engage in collaborative product development to launch new products Solve complex project challenges or technical issues. Analyze results, particularly complex data sets Keep detailed records and prepare summaries and updates for managers and teams as directed Deliver results in a fast-paced product development environment Education and Experience: Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics or related science with up to 3 years post-graduate experience Prefer greater than 1 year+ experience in Commercial Product Development Experienced in molecular biology methods for nucleic acid analysis and manipulation including purification, amplification, hybridization, etc. Highly motivated and proactive Must be detail oriented and organized Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize activities Skilled in analysis of large and complex data sets Works well on a cross-functional team Excellent verbal/written communication skills Desire to be a part of a fast-paced dynamic environmentEqual Opportunity Employer/Affirmative Action Employer Requirements See Above
