Watson Pharmaceuticals, one of the world’s leading and most respected integrated global pharmaceuticals company, is seeking a Director of Marketing to join the Parsippany, NJ team.  


Under general supervision, responsible for establishing and coordinating the marketing functions and strategies in accordance with Company policies, regulatory requirements and sound business practices.  Directs the staff and activities of department to assure Company growth, product development and profitability.  Heads marketing for single brand through multiple division sales force, or, multiple brands.

   

·         Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.

·         Maximizes sales and marketing programs; assists in development of marketing strategies and market growth plans; assists in development of promotional materials.

·         Develops ROI models, analyzes data, identifies and recommends solutions.

·         Coordinates with Company departments to resolve product availability issues.

·         Develops and coordinates marketing strategies; develops analysis of market research needs; analyzes sales potential of new product opportunities, and establishes objectives.

·         Develops and manages contracts and pricing programs.

·         Plans, develops and implements product advertising and promotional programs; coordinates development of marketing materials and training programs.

·         Develops and monitors department budgets, sales forecasts (both near and long-term), and promotional budgets.

·         Monitors and reviews pharmaceutical industry information sources for competitive product information, opportunities, and business intelligence.

·         Oversees Strategic Product Plan Development and Execution

·         Oversees Commercialization of Product and Demand Management

·         Medical Education and Thought Leader Development Interactions.

·         Supervises, coordinates and prioritizes work activities of department staff; participates in interviewing, hiring, and training of staff; and conducts performance evaluations.

·         Provides support, direction and coaching to subordinate employees in the areas of training, problem resolution, planning, and work assignment delegation.

·         Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge of:



·         Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements.

·         Knowledge of Urology Therapeutic Area highly preferred.

·         Sales & Marketing trade relationship principles, practices and applications in the pharmaceutical industry.

·         FDA and other pertinent regulatory compliance regulations and requirements.



·         Public speaking, persuasion and presentation methods and techniques.

·         Principles of mathematical and statistical computations, and budgets and financial plans.

·         Current Company products, policies and procedures.

·         Pharmaceutical principles and their application

Skill in:

 

·         Planning, recommending and implementing goals, objectives and practices for effective, efficient and cost effective management of allocated resources.

·         Responding to inquiries from management, customers and regulatory agencies.

·         Planning, recommending and implementing strategies and practices to assure the highest quality of service, product satisfaction, and continued business relationships with customers

·         Working independently to manage multiple projects, duties and assignments.

·         Leading, supervising and training subordinates, work teams and project teams.

·         Supervising, coordinating, delegating assignments and reviewing the work of assigned department personnel.

·         Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

·         Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.

·         Preparing clear and concise administrative and financial forecasting reports.

·         Influencing internal customers as to the value of the marketing program
