Asahi Kasei Pharma America (AKP America), formerly Artisan Pharma, is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to bringing best-in-class critical care therapeutics to patients throughout the world. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Asahi Kasei Phama, Corp.

ART 123(recombinant human thrombomodulin alpha, marketed as Recomodulin in Japan), our lead product candidate, represents a promising new treatment for severe sepsis with coagulopathy. This drug has successfully completed a Phase 2b clinical trial in disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and Phase 3 trials will be underway shortly. This product might also be beneficial for a number of other indications.

The Administrative Assistant, Product Development is responsible for providing support/administrative functions for staff members within the Product Development area.

Arranges and provides support for internal/external meetings including assistance with travel, meeting planning, distribution of pre and post meeting agendas, programs, presentations/briefing documents, and generating minutes when requested
Makes travel arrangements for the entire staff in Product Development
Maintains calendar for departmental heads within the Product Development arena
Coordinates time off, vacation time etc. for Product Development
Coordinates and arranges monthly group meetings with Product Development staff members.
Assists staff members in the following areas: faxing, photocopying, binding, preparing correspondence, coordinating video conferencing and teleconferencing,
Provides assistance in the design, layout and creation of slide presentations as needed
Maintains company wide contacts listing in Outlook
Prepares and maintains site study document tracking sheets as needed
Assists on special projects as requested

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma as a minimum and a minimum of 1-3 years administrative experience. Prefer candidates having some college, or business school training, and/or pharmaceutical industry experience
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and computing skills are required
Ability to multi-task in a small fast paced working environment
Proficient using Microsoft office software: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access
