Program Manager Of Public Relations Job Details

The Program Manager of Public Relations is responsible for leading Evergreen’s internal and external communications functions to support Evergreen’s mission of advancing the health of the community we serve.  The Program Manager of Public Relations works collaboratively with internal stakeholders, Marketing & Communications staff, external stakeholders, and outside agency support to create targeted, effective, integrated communications.  This individual manages internal communications to keep Evergreen staff and patients informed about health system changes, challenges, and successes.  This individual manages external communications, including Evergreen’s media relations function, pursuing positive media coverage and promoting Evergreen’s position as a healthcare leader among local health systems and in the community at large. 

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or journalism required.  Five to seven years professional experience in public relations or related field required.  Healthcare background preferred but not required

Demonstrated success in implementing media campaigns, building relationships with reporters, and securing media coverage in a variety of media outlets.  Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.  Exceptional verbal and written communications skills with a high level of attention to detail.  Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and deal positively with internal and external constituents, including senior executives, community leaders, and the media.  Ability to manage multiple diverse projects concurrently, working independently and under pressure.  Proficiency with word processing and desktop publishing software.  Ability to work flexible hours, including attendance at some events.
