The Global Product Manager, MedNet will manage the product line roadmap for Hospira's drug error reduction safety software and infusion system interoperability programs. This role will be instrumental in developing Hospira's global strategies for software applications in the Americas, Asia Pacific, and EMEA regions. This person will drive product enhancements and new product introductions in conjunction with R&D based upon customer and technology partner input, industry trends, competitive insight, and business case analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong software development and product management expertise with the ability to lead in a matrixed, distributed team environment to drive meaningful business results in collaboration with a cross functional team.
Position Goals * Drive market share growth for Hospira;
* Drive market expansion for MedNet and software integrations;
* Work in conjunction with Sales, R&D, Implementation Support, and Service to refine and measure our software business model;
* Assist the regions with core strategies to drive additional product penetration for existing products;
* Leverage market insights to develop new product extensions that will increase share and deliver incremental product revenue for on market products. Requirements Core Responsibilities Participate in cross-functional development teams in the conception, design and development of our next generation software solutions for medical devices.Translate market, installed base, service, engineering and support requirements and strategic product roadmaps into specific user needs and high level product requirements. Work closely with R&D and regions to develop appropriate analysis and concept design of products.
Build strong relationships with key cross functional leaders and develop a framework for translating and communicating roadmap and lifecycle requirements. Become an evangelist for the product vision throughout the organization.
Understand end user behavior, technology trends, and market dynamics in order to create better products and increase product adoption, influence and impact. Champion and present opportunities to management for consideration.
Perform or guide deep user-level analysis to understand key problems and solutions and to ensure new capabilities are delivered and working correctly.
Develop product lifecycle strategies, making recommendations for product extensions and/or end of life software versions.
* Minimum 4 years direct working experience in a high tech company with exposure to product and software development cycles and engineering teams.
* 2+ years of experience in product management or related field. Healthcare IT, electronic medical record (EMR), or interoperability experience a plus.
* Data driven with strong analytical and cross-group collaboration skills to bring the organization to consensus on decisions on both short and long-term product plans.
* Ability manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
* Ability to think differently, challenge conventional wisdom, and drive new best practices.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey key insights efficiently and precisely.
* Possess passion, demonstrates collaboration, fosters an entrepreneurial spirit and upholds integrity values.
* Success in supporting B2B relationships.
* Demonstrated knowledge in the following technologies a plus: IHE Profiles, HL7, J2EE, XML, database systems such as Microsoft SQL server and wireless technologies such as 802.11.
