Strategic leader for Affymetrixs Low-to-Midplex business and product portfolio. Position reports to the EVP Commercial Operations, Panomics Operations Responsibilities include:
Provide strategic leadership for Affymetrixs fastest growing business segment including QuantiGene assays for singleplex, multiplex and in situ quantification of RNA transcripts, DNA copy number, fusion molecules, etc. and Procarta multiplex protein assays.
Lead the companys expansion into biomarker validation and routine testing in RUO and translational research markets and ongoing development of drug discovery and development markets including development of the strategy for next generation approaches and products.
Build relationships with current and future key academic and industrial customers to drive business strategies.
Maintain excellence in product marketing including: pricing strategy, product requirements definition, market opportunity definition, forecasting, strategic planning, go to market plan development and implementation, promotional activities, day to day product management activities, resolution of product quality issues.
Interact with key thought leaders in relevant market domains, as well as with all target customer types, as needed.
Develop Key Opinion Leader communities to provide input into future products.
Leads business strategy development and implantation through influence and collaboration with R&D, sales, field marketing, marketing communications, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and other relevant groups within the company. Requirements Minimum of 7-10 years relevant experience, with direct experience in gene expression quantification products/markets.
Direct experience commercializing/launching products and growing and maintaining a business. Minimum of BS in life sciences required. Advanced degree (MBA or PhD) preferred.
Experience leading and managing a team of people is also preferred.
Exceptional ability to develop and implement successful short and long term strategies
Demonstrated track record of successful product launches
Highly effective cross-functional manager and influencer able to work within a matrixed organization to achieve business outcomes
Experience interacting with technical R&D teams of cross functional composition
Experience interacting with global life science, genomics, academic and industrial customers
Experience interacting with global sales forces and sales management
Self starter and leader who is able to motivate the team and keep them focused on a set of well defined goals
Ability to communicate powerfully verbally and in writing
Proven ability to coach and develop marketing team members
