Sr. Product Manager Job Details

The Sr. Product Manager will be responsible for addressing the needs and opportunities of customers using qPCR in validated environments. This includes managing a portfolio of products throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with R&D to deliver winning products. It also includes working with sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Sr. Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the overall strategy and goals of the qPCR business. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to engage customers, identify their unmet needs and lead internal teams to drive to solutions that will enable long-term relationships with this loyal customer base. The Sr. Product Manager must be a leader who reaches out across the organization to both identify and recommend improvements to process and systems that will enhance the customer's experience with Life Technologies and provide better solutions that exceed the customer's expectations. The Sr. Product Manager is expected to:1. Define the product strategy and roadmap2. Lead development teams to define CRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification3. Work with sales to ensure the needs of key customers are being met. 4. Be an expert with respect to the competition5. Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product6. Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals7. Deliver a monthly revenue forecast, with recommendations on actions necessary to meet revenue targets. 8. Develop sales tools and collateral in partnership with market development9. Act as a leader within the companyRequired experience and knowledge1. Minimum of 3 years experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager2. Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products3. Prior field sales experience is highly desirable4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills5. Bachelor's degree (MBA or advanced degree preferred)6. Technical marketing background, with experience in qPCR a plus. 7. Excellent teamwork skills8. Strong analytical skills desired. 9. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority10. Must be able to travel 15-20% of the time
