Job Summary:The Product Manager/Senior Product Manager for Proteomics will be responsible for managing the marketing activities necessary for the development and commercial support of new applications and technologies in the proteomics field. Illumina is the market leader in Next Generation Sequencing and Genotyping, and continually strives to expand its base of technologies and applications.Job duties include but are not limited to: Drive the development of comprehensive market research, requirements, priorities, and plans for market entry and evolution of new proteomics applications.Manage collaborations in proteomics to explore opportunities for Illumina technologies.Serve as marketing lead on interdisciplinary core teams developing new proteomics products.Partner with R&D, Operations, and the Field organization to ensure successful design and deployment new proteomics applications.Drive successful relationships with key customers to ensure successful adoption of new proteomics products and technologies.In partnership with the Corporate Marketing group, develop and manage annual Marketing Communications plan and budget.Work closely with external agencies and internal stakeholders to coordinate and successfully generate all related collateral, including white papers, training materials, promotional items and activities.Collaboratively work with the field organization to ensure accomplishment of the milestones in the annual revenue plan.Education and Experience:3-7 years commercial experience in life sciences, biotech tools or diagnostic devices.Must have experience defining product requirements and working with R&D to ensure development of products based on customer and business requirements. Knowledge of and experience within the proteomics market.Must have experience developing and implementing innovative and successful marketing plans for products in the life sciences, biotech tools, diagnostics or pharmaceutical markets.Must have proven track-record of outstanding performance in interacting with customers and internal organizations.Experience commercializing new products in biotech tools markets.Prefer direct experience managing products aimed at the research market. Experience working with an international (multi-location) R&D organization.Experience setting pricing and discounting policies.Bachelor's Degree, PhD and/or MBA highly desirable.
