Job Description: 

Sr. Manager, Market DevelopmentFrederick, MDPosition ObjectiveThis position will be principally responsible for the marketing activities pertaining to the launch and establishment of the GIBCO Cell Therapy Systems Brand. The key objectives of this position is to develop and deliver the right message to appropriate customer segment for the GIBCO Cell Therapy Systems products using the appropriate sales and marketing channels globally. Essential FunctionsThe successful candidate must be able to perform the following functions for the global customer base:a) develop the right value propositions for the GIBCO Cell Therapy Systems products b) choose the right channels to communicate with and engage with customers c) create marketing collateral that is appropriate for the customer segment and needsd) Develop and assist in customer engagement programs including conference and tradeshow strategies In doing so this candidate will be required to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and channels.
- and product positioning compared to competitors including market strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT)The successful candidate must be able to interact with key customers to understand the following:a) how they use the Cell Therapy Systems products and b) what other products and technologies would be of importance to themc) how they make decisions to choose one product over another and where they look for this informationd) how these decisions can be influenced In accomplishing the above goals the candidate will be required to a) keep abreast of current and potential activities on such items such as competitor products and user requirements. b) assist the regional sales teams in the development of accounts, including technical and feasibility meetings. c) identify major accounts and high potential accounts in order to assist the sales team in the development and penetration of these accounts. Assist in the development of various marketing strategies on a regional level, including, but not limited to: 1) final Go To Market/Marketing Mix Strategy.
- 2) Segmentation Strategy, i. e. biotech, pharma, academic, clinic etc. 3) Competitive Response Strategy.
- 4) Price Getting Strategy.
- 5) Market Dynamics.
- 6) Consumption Dynamics (customer behavior).
- 7) Purchase Dynamics (customer behavior). Maximize business in channels per framework set up by regions. Financials/performanceCandidate will be assessed on the financial performance of the products lines compared to an AOP target and market growth ratesMay be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Requirements

Nature and ScopeExcellent written and oral communication skills are required. Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of company employees and customers. Requires a functional knowledge of corporate operations and product lines. Job encounters recurring work situations with occasional variations from the norm, involving a moderate degree of complexity. Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position. Must demonstrate judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers as well the ability to handle confidential and proprietary information. Initiative and organization skills are extremely valuable to ensure a smooth office operation. Must possess self-motivation, enthusiasm, a positive attitude and perform as a team player.Education:Required: Bachelor's degree Biology or related discipline. Preferred: Masters in Marketing or MBA.Experience:Requires a minimum of 5 years experience in a relevant marketing role with a deep understanding of traditional marketing skills. Experience with marketing regulated products is highly desired. A high proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint preferred.Contacts:Has contact with all levels of company employees as well as frequent interaction with customers and sales team.Working Conditions:Works in an office and lab environment. Is required to lift up to 40 lbs. May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties.
