Cubist Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: CBST) is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the research, development and commercialization of pharmaceutical products that address unmet medical needs in the acute care environment. Founded in 1992, Cubist is headquartered in Lexington, MA.
Position Summary:
This position is focused on peer-to-peer marketing and is an opportunity to blend innovative strategic thinking with seamless execution in a multi-channel environment. The position is focused on the biggest lever for CUBICIN and will be devoted to optimizing this channel for the Company. Specific responsibilities are described in the following three categories:
Strategy
- Understand the brand strategy and identify innovative applications in peer-to-peer marketing - Participate in sourcing and assessing novel forums/channels to optimize exchange of relevant medical information in the acute care setting - Collaborate to draft the annual brand plan and other significant strategic initiatives (e.g. pilot programs)
Clinical
- Understand the key brand messages and apply implications to peer-to-peer marketing - Demonstrate expertise in scientific message development and ability to align clinical data with marketing strategy/messaging - Collaborate closely with Clinical Scientific Directors (CSDs) to ensure that clinical data is accurate and relevant to physicians - Develop compelling scientific branded and non-branded clinical presentations - Work closely with Director of Marketing, CSDs, medical communications and logistics partners to execute two clinical Speaker Training meetings each year - Leverage innovative communication mediums to enrich clinician understanding
Operations
- Champion the regulatory review of content through the Clearance process - Manage Speakers Bureau website - Collaborate with key external partners like the advertising agency, Medical communications, etc.) - Ensure pull-through post events in a multi-channel format - Track budget within quarterly targets - Ensure all activities are in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements Requirements Minimum Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required - Minimum of five years combined Marketing, Medical Affairs, or Sales experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry required
Experience Required:
- Able to think strategically with strong clinical acumen required to translate clinical data into promotional materials - Familiarity working closely with Key Opinion Leaders across multiple forums - Experience collaborating with Regulatory, Legal, and Medical to effectively champion Commercial priorities and initiatives through the Clearance process - Command of the marketing process and experience with all channels in the promotional mix (online, offline, personal, non-personal, etc.) - Experience with assessing and managing multiple vendors/partners - Experience assessing and leveraging technology for promotional use - Five to ten years of combined Marketing, Medical Affairs, or Sales experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry preferred - Prefer Bachelors degree in scientific discipline. MBA preferred but not required

Work Environment:
- This position will be based in the Lexington office and requires significant interaction and collaboration with other Cubist functions (Regulatory, Legal, Medical, Decision Support, etc.) and external partners (advertising agency, medical communications, etc.)
Physical Demands:
- Sitting/working at computer terminal, moving between offices and conference rooms
