Job Summary:The Senior Product Support Engineer will play a key role enhancing Illumina's unparalleled customer support by integrating the needs of the Customer Solutions department into the release of new commercial products. Candidates will receive competitive salaries and extensive experience with Illumina's cutting-edge products. Illumina is growing rapidly and offers excellent opportunities for career development.Job duties include but are not limited to: Develop hands on engineering experience with Illumina's instruments and systems.Serve as the Customer Solutions representative on product development core teams. Coordination of efforts within each sub-group in Customer Solutions on minor product launches and collaboration with other senior members of the team on major product launches.Complete all required documentation of service and support plans.Coordinate internal system integration and alpha testing for new products. Assist Marketing with coordination of beta product trials.Assist with management of onsite activity during beta trials including being onsite when necessary. Work with the Commercial Training group to develop curricula for support team training demonstrating use, service, and installation of new products.Calculation and communication of the cost of service and support of new products.Edit, author technical documentation in conjunction with the Technical Publication group.Occasional travel (up to 15%)Qualifications:MS, BS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree,3-5 years of commercial biotech/biomedical science industry experience preferred,Prior experience in an in house or field support role preferred,Highly motivated with strong problem solving ability, excellent verbal and written communications skills,Prior service experience with fluidics and optical scanning equipment preferred,Prior project management experience preferred,Demonstrated written and verbal communication and presentation skills, Outstanding interpersonal skills, Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
