Job Description:This position provides business management leadership to a diverse portfolio of products and services serving Drug Discovery in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. It interacts with varying levels of internal and external personnel, across all business functions, and periodically crossing BUs. Effectiveness in this role requires an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of product management.
- from developing and setting strategy, conducting market research, leading new product development and launch, pricing strategy, market adoption, and all aspects of product life cycle management and portfolio management. The incumbent receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet timelines and goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Owns global development, communication, and execution of clear business strategies, and resultant business plans, product strategies and ROI. Execution may include a mix of internal product development, in/out licensing activities, partnerships or product distribution agreements
- Validates target markets and product requirements through secondary and primary market research with customers and non-customers.
- Conducts competitive analysis and integrates with VOC to determine product requirements, positioning and pricing strategy.
- Develops and executes entire go-to-market and lifecycle management plan including inventory stocking strategy, inventory levels, and product discontinuance
- Works with Marketing to define and support initiatives to create demand, and with Regional Business Managers to create and execute effective sales tools and training.
- Owns P&L results: performs on-going analysis and proposes necessary actions to ensure portfolio remains competitive and achieves revenue, profit, and growth goals

Requirements


- Business sponsor as well as customer and product champion through Stage-Gate product development process. Works with R&D to conduct VOC/alpha/beta testing and develop viable product roadmaps.
- Interfaces to Legal on matters of patent strategy/IP Licensing, and freedom to operate. Position requires strong business acumen, customer and market focus. In addition, knowledge or aptitude for learning product/service lines involving quantitative biochemical and cellular assays, intra-cellular pathway analysis, cell line engineering, High Throughput Screening and emerging life sciences technologies. Travel of 10-30% required.Education:Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related discipline, or the equivalent education and experience.Preferred requirements: M.B.A. (Marketing concentration), advanced technical degree.Experience:10+ yrs professional experience with at least 6 yrs of Product Management experience in life sciences or related industries. Excellent communication skills as well as demonstrated analytical, project management, planning and cross-functional team leadership skills are necessary. Proven ability to see and execute new business opportunities, meet aggressive objectives, develop strong working relationships and mentor/develop people is strongly preferred.
