Due to our success and rapid growth, we are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to manage our Custom Genotyping Products. This position is responsible for strategic market analysis, identifying and developing key collaborations and working with the custom genotyping team to ensure products meet the company's high standards.The individual will work within a multi-functional organization interacting with various product teams, corporate marketing team, sales, engineering, and manufacturing departments to build market-driven solutions ensuring successful launches. Tasks and responsibilities: Analyze and segment various global markets to determine compelling value propositions, competitive positioning, most desirable product attributes and trade-offs, pricing and sales forecasts. Identify key market segments / collaborations for future product development Collaborate with the Marketing Programs group to develop product messaging to position in the market place and implement tactical programs. Develop market segmentation analysis, SWOT analysis, pricing recommendations. Manage small technical teams to achieve their goals within defined target timeframes. Customer satisfaction, profitability, forecasting and gross margin analysis for Illumina's custom genotyping products. Evaluate and communicate internally all competitive threats, strengths and weaknesses; represent the "voice of the customer". Develop and implement worldwide strategic plans for the custom genotyping application to maximize adoption of Illumina's genotyping approach in the marketplace. Manage a team of product managers Perform other duties as assigned.All listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.Preferred educational background: Bachelor or Master in Biological Sciences, Genetics or related field. MBA is desirable. Preferred experiential background: Experience with DNA microarray technology and genotyping applications is preferred. Minimum of 5-8 years Marketing experience in the life science RUO industry. Demonstrated product life cycle experience, from cradle to grave. Strong experience with collaboration management. Familiarity with marketing research techniques, conjoint analysis, etc. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Independent and strategically minded. Strong project management and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to give customer facing presentations. Excellent communication and team management skills . Ability to work as a member of a multifunctional team. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook required. ~25% Travel.Knowledge and skills typically acquired through previous positions in fast-paced corporate environments which involved responsibility for similar work.
