The Vice President of Sales and Marketing provides leadership and coordination of company sales and marketing functions. Develop and execute business strategies that will maximize market opportunities. Create and implement strategic sales and marketing objectives.
Execute sales plan to achieve maximum sales volume and profitability. Oversee the management of sales team and their territories. Assess new markets and propose new business opportunities. Negotiate contracts, initiate proposals, and close deals. Provide input to new product and new product strategies.
Identifies product placement position to meet overall corporate marketing objectives, and sales and channel strategy development and execution to meet the companys financial goals.
Responsible for developing long range strategic marketing and sales plans for the companys entire product portfolio and corporate brand management and positioning and risk management to the companys products and reputation in the market. Translates the overall strategy into tactical functional plans to ensure outcomes are achieved across the companys product lines, geographies and lines of business. Key Responsibilities: - Implement tactical plans to drive growth in orders and revenues above plan within corporate goals for profitability. - Define the appropriate marketing and sales organization for the company/businesss maturity/size. - Sets marketing and sales strategy, develops partnership agreements and oversees the companys service and support functions to ensure that financial and strategic goals are attained. - Direct and coordinate company sales and marketing functions. - Develop and coordinate sales selling cycle, sales processes, methodology and sets appropriate metrics for sales funnel management. - Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs and results. - Develops the annual marketing plan and the strategies, tactics and resources necessary to achieve system and goals. - Creates an institutional and system-wide marketing reporting function that can track, measure and analyze performance. - Ensures all marketing communications are coordinated, support marketing plan objectives and are an effective expenditure of resources. - Strategic planning including corporate positioning market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection and penetration plans, and related product positioning. - Develops pricing policies, including volume discounts and terms and conditions for high profile customers and channel partners. - Maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding customer base. - Oversee product management including market and customer research for market and product requirements, interface with Operations and R&D for product development, product pricing and product lifecycle management. - Oversee product marketing including product launch management, sales training, presentations, sales tools, competitive analysis and general sales support. Requirements Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education, Experience, Job Skills, Equipment Skills, and Certifications) - Bachelor Degree in Health Sciences / Business. MBA is preferred. Knowledge of Pharma/BioPharma industry. - A minimum of 15 years experience in sales and marketing with four years in a senior management position within the healthcare/life science industry preferred. - Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others. - Exceptional track record of developing and executing sales and marketing strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives. - Working knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations. - Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results driven, team oriented environment. - Proven ability to plan and lead at both the strategic and operational levels. - Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with executive level customers and partners. - Proven presentation and written communication skills. - Ability to participate and facilitate group meetings.
