Millipore, a leader in providing products and services to the bioscience industry, is seeking a Global Product Manager for its Sample Prep portfolio. We are seeking an experienced, highly-motivated and talented individual to play a leadership role in a dynamic team and customer-oriented environment. The position is based at our Bioscience Division in Danvers, Massachusetts in the USA. At Millipore, the overall responsibility of the Global Product Management group is to integrate the various segments of a business into a strategically focused program that maximizes the value of that business. Product Managers champion the processes involved in bringing our products to our customers and are highly empowered drivers viewed as general managers of their product line. Product Managers at Millipore work directly with customers and industry thought leaders to assess the process and technology needs of the marketplace and the underlying assumptions that are broadly held. As the Global Product Manager for Sample Prep you will work at all levels of the organization, and must be very familiar with the needs of senior management. Millipore Product Managers have a breadth of responsibility typical of smaller, entrepreneurial environments, with the reputation and resource advantages of an established, billion dollar corporation. In this position you will have the following responsibilities: 1. Optimize business performance of existing products by developing product positioning and implementing marketing plans and sales education. Provide product and market knowledge to support sales activities through customer and end user visits, and provide this information in a timely manner, including sales training and field support of the sales force. Regularly communicates/reports on competitors to the global sales and marketing orgs w/ regard to new and existing products, positioning, and pricing. 2. Develop launch plans including creation of content and selling tools and coordinate development with marketing communications. 3. Identify new markets, channel optimization and/or applications opportunities to maximize sales of existing products. 4. Lead Product Lifecycle management and insure overall product line health by meeting customer need with existing products, rationalizing SKUs and introducing product extensions. Responsible for contribution margin of product line with focus on revenue and margin growth within product segment. Responsible for analysis and maintenance of product supply partnerships. 5. Optimize business performance via in-depth analysis of market and competitive environment, close monitoring of global pricing within major markets in order to optimize pricing and product positioning. Develop strategy to meet Revenue growth targets or work with sales, R&D, field marketing and customers to identify obstacles. 6. Lead the development and implementation of the world-wide marketing plan for products. Work with Marketing Communications to ensure appropriate project planning and delivery of marketing materials. Participate with departmental management, field marketing and the sales team in the review and implementation of the market plan for the assigned business area. Propose marketing communications mix and activities for product lines. 7. Provide product and market knowledge to support sales activities through customer and end user visits, and provide this information in a timely manner via regular communication, including sales training and field support of the sales force. 8. Coordination of field trials, marketing surveys, customer focus groups and providing follow-up customer support in order to insure an in-depth understanding of customer needs, potential opportunities. Responsible for translating customer voice into product development plans with support from the Group Product Manager. 9. Regular customer visits/ sales calls to understand market dynamics. Attendance at trade shows/conferences, etc. 10. Manage projects and resource utilization including application development (ADP) and product development (PDP). Lead alpha and beta testing, launch planning and commercialization ramp-up. Advise all departments as needed of project requirements. 11. Lead multi-department teams to develop and commercialize new products or platforms. Monitor project plan to ensure accurate and timely completion, and compliance with customer requirements. Ensure activities are within regulatory and internal parameters such as USDA, NIH, ISO requirements (regulatory) and approved internal protocol parameters. 12. Monitor the success of new products launched; analyze the effectiveness of recent projects. Develop and produce project-related reports as requested by supervisor 13. Direct and define activities of Associate Product Manager. Responsible for training APM on applicable systems, products and markets. Requirements: The ideal candidate will be self motivated, energetic, strategic thinking, and results oriented with a Bachelors or equivalent Degree in business or a science discipline(MBA preferred), and 3+ years Product Management experience. One to two years experience in Life Science or Biotech environments preferred. You must be experienced and effective in working across boundaries and functions, and experienced in product launch activities with the ability to analyze and define markets. Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally. Demonstrated knowledge of personal computer software in a business environment, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Good organizational skills, including the ability to be flexible to changing priorities and needs. Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy combined with proven ability to multi-task. Desire to develop strategic business skills and people management. Approximately 30% domestic and international travel required. Requirements. |
