Job Description: 

We are seeking a seasoned entrepreneurial executive and customer development visionary who will develop and drive Ironwood?s customer communication channels, digital media, and social networks and operations initiatives. The successful candidate must be a creative, hands-on executive with proven leadership and execution skills. This individual will be responsible for supporting the Brand Team and collaborating with business partners in developing and assessing strategies that gain insight into customer behavior, implementing innovative programs in response to those insights and behaviors, and fostering cross-customer communication in a unique and innovative manner. Key stakeholders include: physicians (PCPs, specialists, etc.), key opinion leaders (KOLs), payers, internal and external business partners. This customer communications & operations leader will supervise the activities of the following roles: senior director of consumer marketing, manager of professional marketing, director of information networks, and senior director of insights and analytics. This position reports to the chief commercial officer (CCO).

Responsibilities
- Establish and execute methodology to uncover insights with regard to customer behavior;

- Build and continuously refine leading-edge capabilities (people, processes and technologies) in the area of professional, consumer marketing as well as information technologies;

- Continuously evaluate, monitor and improve operational performance/productivity;

- Develop and implement broad educational initiatives, supporting tactics, and specific tools to enhance customer interactions and drive desired behaviors;

- Gain alignment on key capabilities and tactics with internal and external business partners.

- Evaluate and leverage technology solutions, digital media, and social networks to accomplish goals and objectives;

- Develop innovative analytical tools and ensure best in class market analytics are applied to customer segments in systematic manner;

- Establish business performance metrics in conjunction with the commercial leadership team and the co-promote partners;

- Hire, train, and direct a staff of marketing operations and business analytics professionals;

- Build new capabilities in the area of customer communications and digital media;

- Manage strategic alignment and execution of strategies related to customer communications and operations with co-promote partners;

- Maintain responsibility for people and performance management of multi-functional teams as required;

- Liaise with co-promote partners with regard to performance monitoring.

Requirements

- 10+ years of pharmaceutical experience in brand management or related marketing operations role (e.g., advertising);

- Proven experience in developing and implementing innovative customer focused disease-state education and brand strategies within the pharmaceutical or biotech industries;

- Proven experience in designing and implementing customer focused communication strategies that leverage digital media and other innovative channels;

- A passion for brand management and customer service, and drive for excellence;

- Ability to think strategically, including a mastery of consumer and professional insights, market insights and their applications to assigned portfolio;

- Proven management experience with supervisory responsibilities including experience with strategic and tactical planning, performance management, coaching, and project management;

- Experience in managing partnerships and strategic alliances;

- Ability to attract and select the right talent, set expectations, communicate clear feedback, and develop staff appropriately;

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in addition to excellent interpersonal and presentation skills;

- B.A./B.S. degree required; advance degree preferred.
