I. Position Overview: as Strategic Marketing Director of Pharmaceutical Softgel, you will develop go-to-market strategy and activities for the portfolio of softgel technologies and services offered to third parties, and collaborate in strategy development for product participation initiatives. II. Primary Accountabilities: A. Assess the overall softgel dosage form market and potential, and with relevant business & technical teams, develop the Go-To-Market strategy to achieve the market share and position desired by the Business. B. Codify individual sub-strategies for each segment of the business including toll services, proprietary offerings, and product participation. C. Develop the appropriate global & regional marketing strategies (customers, projects, pricing, specific solutions) for each segment. D. Ensure the Business Development team has a clear understanding of end user needs and marketplace dynamics that impact the product/service lines. Determine which needs are most important and translate them into clear direction for product development and improvement. III. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities: For Pharmaceutical Softgel Portfolio: E. Create and update forecasts of market size and potential, including potential competitive product/service strategies and tactics. Monitor competitive market successes and failures and incorporate in product line strategy setting F. For each individual product/service, ensure that we understand end user needs and develop the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer(s) for the products within the portfolio G. Provide softgel product line management H. Together with Marketing Services identify the tactics and create the marketing plans to support and execute the strategy I. Provide Marketing Services with content for product collateral, web, and any relevant marketing materials J. Work with Field Sales to ensure execution of the tactical plans as conceived K. Measure effectiveness of plans against objectives for customer awareness, trial, project wins, and repeat business objectives and estimate market share progress L. Track and assess the value of softgel development project pipelines and business opportunities M. Scout and stay abreast of new technologies that could compete for the same benefit stories N. Identify and recommend product upgrades to increase or defend market share O. Serve as internal and external evangelist for product offerings, working closely with Sales and key customers to secure contracts for in-market applications Requirements Degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry or related technical discipline required MBA Preferred A minimum of five (5) years prior experience in marketing/business development of Rx products in a B2B environment is strongly preferred
