The Director, Segment Marketing will report in to the Vice President of Global Marketing. This position has responsibility for defining, developing and executing on all objectives and strategies related to the market segments as assigned by brand. The Director, Segment Marketing will work closely with the brand teams to develop specific strategies and tactics in support of assigned market segments.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES PERFORMED BY THE INCUMBENT:
Lead the product marketing team(s) to develop strategies and tactics within assigned market segments Continually review the assigned market(s), identifying opportunities and utilizing promotional resources to effectively achieve marketing goals with positive ROI Transform strategic facts about the healthcare business environment into actionable intelligence that results in a sustainable competitive advantage in the assigned segment(s) Work in tandem with brand, sales and outcomes/pharmacoeconomics teams to identify and develop meaningful strategies and tactics for implementation Interact with segment thought leaders and influencers on a routine basis to ensure an understanding of the healthcare business environment Requirements Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in pharmaceutical sales and/or marketing and 2 years of account management experience calling on specific segment customers Strong strategic perspective combined with segment-oriented expertise Effective leadership skills including indirect management of team members, both internal and ex-commercial Direct experience in either a sales or marketing capacity in the segment in which this person will be assigned (e.g. acute care) MBA is highly desirable
